Thank you all for your love and support since we brought Theaterworks Amsterdam (then known as Theatergroep Trezoor) back to life in 2002 after a 12 year dormancy. It’s been a busy seven years.  Along the way, we’ve been joined by fabulous friends and artists from the Netherlands and around the world; presented 14 productions from full scale (low budget!) shows to intimate readings; played in de Cameleon, the Sugar Factory, de Balie, Paradiso, The Biblos, The ABC Treehouse, de Nieuwe Anita, and a nosebleed-high platform in the freezing rain; … and along the way poked artistic fun at politicians, civilians, the world around us – and always, at ourselves.

 …but exhausting!

 So we’re taking a little break to catch our breaths, rebuild our bank balances (as an English-language theater company in Amsterdam, the financial crisis started the day we picked our first project!), and see what comes next naturally.  There are lots of projects wanting attention, but none of them wants a deadline, so we’re going to acquiesce to their needs, instead of our own to jump in with both feet again right away. Sometimes a sabbatical is just what’s called for, to come back stronger than ever - we’re going to take the next few months to find out.
